Finding a women’s community in San Diego should be really freaking fun.

Lets Go Girls exists to create spaces where women can show up as themselves and find real friendships in San Diego.

From casual meetups to coordinated events

Lets Go Girls started in 2020 after founder Amanda wanted to expand her social circle. She was tired of waiting for the perfect community to magically appear, so she decided to just start organizing her own meetups.

She posted in a Facebook group: "I'm going to the beach Saturday at 11am, here's exactly where I'll be if anyone wants to come." A few people showed up. She posted photos with an invite to the next one. More people came.

It turned out thousands of women across San Diego were just waiting for someone to take the lead so they could show up and be themselves. They didn't need another exclusive club or perfectly curated experience. They just needed someone to say "here's where we'll be" and actually follow through.

Now, we’re San Diego’s largest women’s community

Members are building their entire San Diego friend groups through Lets Go Girls. Military spouses moving every few years have an instant community when they arrive. Traveling nurses find their people within days. Longtime locals who've lived here for decades are discovering friendships they didn't know they were missing.

And as the years have passed, we've gotten better at creating more opportunities for connections to bloom across the city.

What we care about

  • We create space for introverts and extroverts, newcomers and locals, party-goers and book club lovers. Every event and business decision filters through one question: does this welcome everyone or just one type of person?

  • We protect the group's energy by vetting every member, limiting sales pitches to trusted partners, and addressing drama immediately. Growth matters, but not at the expense of the safe, welcoming environment our members rely on.

  • We know it's hard to rally people to commit to plans. That's why we handle all the logistics, schedule meetups consistently, and make it easy for members to just show up and connect.

  • We show up as real people building real friendships, not influencers performing for an audience. Our events showcase diverse experiences, our content features candid member moments, and our messaging sounds like a friend texting you.

Meet the founder

Lets Go Girls founder and real estate agent Amanda Abruzzo started LGG in 2020 because she wanted to make more friends in San Diego and got tired of waiting around for someone else to organize the thing she was looking for.

She's learned that building community is less about having the perfect plan and more about consistently showing up. The best events aren't the most Instagram-worthy ones, but the ones where someone walks away with a new friend's phone number or gets invited to grab coffee next week.

Her hope for Lets Go Girls is that it becomes a model for how women's communities can scale without losing the warmth and inclusivity that makes them work in the first place. San Diego is just the beginning.
